Project Overview

A smart device used for preventing home fire hazard. It is composed of temperature and combustible gas sensors and will set out timely alarms in the event of a fire. Users can also use it as a speaker with various functions such as playing music, audiobooks, and finding recipes.

Innovation Consulting

Conducted a thorough study of home kitchen environments to identify challenges and pain points. Proposed solutions to be used in the design for each issue found. Highlighted key issues such as kitchen grease and smoke with oil and water resistance indicator lights.

Industrial Design

Explored various stacking solutions for limited spacing and came out with the final design based on stability and compactness. Provided reasonable support to make the product small and slim. Improve the inter-product-modules’ operational stability and the configurations flexibility.

Software and Hardware Development

Minimized false alarms (major product challenges when uses in kitchen) while ensuring accurate and timely fire warnings through sensor integration.Provided alerts based on sensor status to make it easier for users to replace components when needed. Selected the best fit high-precision temperature and smoke sensors based on customer’s budget and requirements.
